The last two weeks I’ve profiled Kanitha’s Breast Cancer journey. If you missed it, you can read it here and over there.

Like many, finding a cancerous lump in her breast was the last thing in her mind. When she found the lump she had it checked out immediately.

Sadly, it was cancerous.

Fortunately, she didn’t ignore the lump when she first found it, neither should you. Whether you’re a woman or man, if you find a lump around your breast area, go have it checked out.

According to CANSA Breast Cancer is the most common cancer among women in South Africa. It is the growth of a malignant tumour that starts in the cells of the breast.

Interview with a Breast Cancer Survivor: Kanitha

October being Breast CANCER Awareness month, I asked a friend and colleague whose journey we praying is over, to share her experience.

A single mom of now three teenagers in her naughty forties. She lost her husband eight years ago, forcing Kanitha to quickly learn to fend for herself and her children. Life has taken her completely out of her comfort zone. She is winning her battle against CANCER whilst balancing life and work demands successfully.

In her spare time, Kanitha enjoys cooking for her beautiful family and friends, while appreciating her own personal space too. She loves being comfortable and binge watching series.
