I’m in my late 30s just before entering the era I’m told life begins at … I’d been involved with my partner for almost 10 years … filled with both great times and challenging ones.

I wanted to become a dad for as long as I could recall.. so when we decided we were going to start our journey into parenthood, I decided to journal our journey through a blog, jotting our road to becoming dads.

In 2012 we decided to take our relationship up a notch and honest men of ourselves before our son joined us.

Early Jan 29th, 2013 we were blessed with a beautiful little boy, our son J. He has been an amazing blessing to both Darren and I. We love watching our son reach his different life milestones and spending quality time with him is great for our souls. Nappy changing, vomit, early mornings, teething and the odd middle of the night change of sheets … are but the joys of parenting.

This is our journey of Two Dads and our Son!

  1. So I guess you have just become one of The Spikey’s, that small clan of folk known to be followers of Uncle Spike
Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.
My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures since the 70′s, as well as day to day happenings on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it. Of course, if you have any suggestions for me, I’d love to hear from you, serious.
In return, I promise not to be overbearing with perhaps 2-3 posts a day tops. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.
Thanks again for your vote of confidence, and hope you have a great day…
