This pic right here is a great example of what our office space currently looks like. No furniture, blank walls, clean-ish carpets and a window of opportunities.
For the next few .. or what will feel like months the lot of us will be huddled into empty spaces, where available in order to keep the region going. At the same time, the renovation company begins their banging today.
This is what the office will look like by Friday I am sure >>>
I’m expecting loads of dust, noise, irate colleagues with no alternative but to plough through the work that still needs to be completed in the interim.
We’re suppose to enjoy the journey, but today already I’ve witnessed a few snide remarks from my colleagues due to the impact the start has delivered already. It’s all unfortunately unavoidable and something we will all have to accept and deal with… for now at least.
Once all the dust has settled, there will be more banging as the contractors move into phase 2. This is the start of what will eventually be our new look offices. The picture to the left over <<<<< there is what I call phase 2 of the renovations. At least we will hopefully be breathing a little more air and less dust! One hopes that from phase 1 to phase 3 of part one of the renovations will not last beyond the end of next month. After all, it’s only the interior that is being revamped?
The final look is something like this >>>>>>>>>>>
It is supposed to be fresh, hip, modern and encourage us to work harder. It will also align our office look with the rest of our groups offices globally, making you feel like you’re at your own desk even though you’re visiting our offices overseas.
While we are providing the noise and excitement for the office block, our neighbours across the way are also seeming contributing to the party too.
This is what their offices are looking like too. A sign that it won’t be long before someone new moves in to that space.
Fun and games I tell you!
Anyways, this is what it feels like now. Our working environment that is .
We’re so up close and personal we can smell each others farts! Ok maybe not because I think we’re all being super polite at the moment and walking off to the loo when one needs to release. Also that we’re sitting with the “boss”, farting in their presence could be career limiting?
It’s all a journey right? All part of the process taking us to what will ultimately be an inspiring and wonderful new working space. Everything will smell new, and will work without the help of prestik or glue to keep it in place.
Such is our life as of today and for a while anyway!
