I was discussing with hubby this weekend how time is seemingly blasting past us at an unacceptable speed! We were driving past one of the local shopping mega points in our city when I noticed .. for the .. I don’t know hundredth time that the Christmas decorations were once more all out in all their glory! Where on earth has this year gone! Funny thing is that all the adults feel this way but all the kids feel the opposite .. time idles by for them …
Anyway, now that the local rugby season is over, we’re seeing more of hubby at home … and this means he has changed gears too! We’re now all into hectic cycle. There’s the 94.7 Cycle Challenge in the coming weeks and in March the Argus race … So all his energies are directed at any cycling opportunity in order to remain fit or improve his fitness levels! He is doing great so far!
This past weekend he entered and rode the Nissan Trailseeker Race #5 out in Irene. He managed to complete it in under 2h30 which he was proud to announce to all that lent him an ear .. that it was his best time yet! While he rode his butt sore .. JJ and I were out in the field. JJ was crawling everywhere I let him .. and munch away at all the snacks provided .. we really must start watching his diet!
Sunday started off with hubby going off for yet another ride .. this time all on tar! That said, he arrived home feeling a tad exhausted and sore from the two days on the road. He remains focused though, knowing that if he doesn’t put in the time he will suffer out on race day .. and we know we don’t want that to happen!
While away riding, JJ and I slept in a tad more than usual before we had no choice by to get up and start to get ready for grans arrival. She decided to be adventurous and jump into one of these new luxury taxis . I think I was more worried than she may have been, this was enhanced by us arriving at the train station where they were being dropped and to realise they had yet to arrive. They finally arrived and we were all obviously thrilled to see her.
Following a leisurely lunch we went home to relax. JJ was so totally spoilt by my mom. He is being showered with gifts, love and attention. However, where my mom and son are concerned .. we’re still on shallow ground as they are still in we’re getting to know each other mode .. ok more from JJ than my mom.
It’s great having mother around and just being spoilt by all the love and attention. Love her to bits and more!
We’re all so blessed by her!
